We've been trying to reduce spending lately as we adjust to higher gas & grocery prices. I really needed to get my hair cut but couldn't justify the cost when the main problem was just my bangs. Did you know you can drop into Great Clips and get your bangs trimmed for just $5? It was a great cheap fix and the perfect way to stretch out haircuts.

That is a great idea!!! You really can just get your bangs clipped between hair cuts and save some money!!!
1Yup.
2Lots of salons trim your bangs for free if you're a regular customer. Mine does.
3I'm so cheap I cut my own bangs, lol. Luckily I've always had blunt bangs so it's pretty easy ... plus one stylist showed me a tip to make it look better, too! (Twist your bangs into little sections and snip those instead of straight across.)
I'll have to see if there's a Great Clips around - I can't stand the thought of spending $15 + Tip for a bang trim!!
4You might also want to look and see if there are any beauty schools in your area. One of my BFFs just got her haircut at the Paul Mitchell School in NYC and she LOVES the cut and color. A cut is like $15.00 for a tier 2 [a more experienced/talented student], $10.00 for tier 1.
5Many salons (including mine here in Austin) also need "models" for their students to practice on (under close supervision). Many cities also have cosmetology schools, which I've always had terrific luck at. Cuts and other processes take longer, because students must be checked by an instructor every step of the way, but the job is just as well done (sometimes better, since egos and creative visions don't get in the way of a good cut-and-color).
6I have had good luck with the beauty schools as well.
7Often I will tell the student to use their imignation and just cut... most hesitate and ask their instructor who then comes and ask what I want. i then explain I picked that student due to the fact that from their hair style I feel they are creative and I am a bit eccentric. My hair grows quickly but thus far all has gone well.
If you go to a hair school or serve as a model, do you still get to choose the style you'd like?
